Aira is a NJ native who earned their BFA in Textile/Surface Design at FIT in 2019. They’ve lived in New York for almost a decade and draw most of their inspiration from the architecture in their neighborhood. Other artistic influences include Charles Burns comics, Baroque ornamentation, and Victorian etching. They love to design tattoos that fit the body’s curvature and form large scale decorative compositions, and also adore designing script or other lettering styles. 

Practicing through an anti-capitalist lens, they always strive to create work that empowers the individual to exercise autonomy over their own body. Aira is passionate about using tattooing as a means of gender affirmation and body contouring. Their greatest wish is to foster connection amongst their community through their work.
